Skills development

We believe that the best way to fight poverty is to equip people with practical, marketable skills. SAP focuses on providing hands-on training that is directly aligned with the economic opportunities available in rural Chipinge. We offer short-term courses designed for those who may not have access to formal education or urban opportunities. Our training areas include arts and design, electronic engineering, modern farming techniques, sports coaching, construction, tourism and hospitality. By learning these skills, our beneficiaries are able to become self-reliant and, in turn, contribute to the development of the communities they come from.

inclusivity

At SAP, we are intentional about reaching the most marginalised groups in our community. We actively identify and support youth with disabilities, orphans, and young single mothers who might otherwise be excluded from development programmes. We ensure that our training venues are physically accessible and that our learning materials are available in adaptable formats, such as braille and audio for those who need them. Beyond training, we provide platforms for counselling and peer support, helping to build confidence and a sense of belonging. We also link our beneficiaries with specialised services to address their unique needs. For us, inclusivity is not just a goal—it is a fundamental principle that guides everything we do.

livelihoods

Skills alone are not enough; they must be translated into sustainable income. That is why SAP places such a strong emphasis on livelihood projects. We help our graduates access seed grants, in-kind resources, and micro-loans to start their own businesses. We provide ongoing mentorship and business development services to help new enterprises grow. We also assist with market linkages, connecting our graduates to customers and opportunities. Where it makes sense, we promote the formation of cooperatives, allowing young entrepreneurs to pool their resources and share risks. Our ultimate goal is to ensure that the training we provide leads to tangible, lasting economic improvement for every young person who walks through our doors.
